Muddy Creek Raceway hosts AMA Pro Motocross and amateur events on a rolling, technical track carved into the Sullivan County hills. A staple of the regional motocross calendar, with multiple national-level events on the schedule each year and weekend amateur races throughout the riding season.
Muddy Creek Raceway opened in the mid-1970s when landowner Paul Baskett and his sons Jim and Lynn built the motocross track about 9 miles from Bristol Motor Speedway in Blountville. Sports Illustrated named its annual Top Gun Showdown "Tennessee's Sporting Event of the Year" in 2003. From 2013 through 2018 the track hosted a round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, and Ryan Dungey won the inaugural Tennessee National there on June 1, 2013.
